Guy,
I just read a great review of your show in the UK Independent. I hope to see it some day. It mentioned you were a chain-smoker. I hate to hear that. Please stop.

OMG, a new post. 🙂
And please put the wine and nibbles down. They’re distracting you. You can send ’em our way instead, haha. 🙂
Speaking of which, I have a great story about hanging out with Jack and walking off with his SG that Felix Pappalardi gave him.
( I was.….buzzed.…just a bit) Maybe someday (stateside) I can tell you about it over a brew.

But if one is listening to a good thumpin’ bass in one’s ride, one should never use the foot on the gas pedal to tap along… particularly if Guy is doing One of These Days.

Ok Guy, no solo albums then, anyway I would like bass guitarists solo albums, my favorite instrument is the bass and I want to try to play bass&guitar(I can play something well on guitar, but not near good) and I would like to take on the bass.
I watched a few videos from David’s 2006, well VOIOS we fans called them , cos they are not profesional shot, rather by some people in the audinece(whom the security guys didn’t found), you all had a great time on stage it seames, didn’t you?
And I must say, you were exactley as the 1987–1989 Pink Floyd tour, well with shorter hair, but the same great playing.
Any word on photos taken of us before the Oakland show last April? I want to get some copies to put up in my office. We had a great time having a pint with you and I’d like to always remember that memory with a photo. If you’ve heard from any of the other bloggers who were there that had cameras ready, I’d like to connect with them too. I can give an e‑mail address if anyone knows more.
Thanks. I hope the book writing is coming along or finished…I look forward to picking it up when released.

hi guy. my name is mchael. i am a really big fan of the Floyd. my Question is to you, how do you play “one of these days” on the bass? i’ve been trying to play my favorite floyd tune for some time. i would like to know how it is played? what type of equipment you need? i have an amp with a delay feature on it, but the highest it will go to level 8. i’m wondering if i add on another delay unit, will it be a longer delay or does the unit cancell my amp delay and go directly to the unit which probably have a longer delay? i used to play bass in school (long time a go), but unfortuneately lost touch for a while. but already just getting back into it. i’m trying to teach myself, but having issues. i will be getting lessons soon. if you can reply back to me by e‑mail that would be great.

Well good luck with the book, be shour to add as much floyd in it as possible. Hope to get a to buy it as soon as possible.
One question:When can we expect a Guy Pratt solo album?
Guy Pratt - December 3, 2006 2:24 AM
I’m a bass player. With the exception of Jaco Pastirius we make dreadful solo albums.
Phoenix - December 3, 2006 5:19 AM
But you’re great for rattling the mirrors in my ride.
the Phoenix.
Guy Pratt - December 4, 2006 1:06 AM

Thank you in advance.
