I’m delighted to report that Iva Davies came round to personally deliver my ARIA Hall of Fame award, earned for my time in Icehouse. It’s actually a very nice thing, although incredibly pointy and heavy. If anyone breaks into my house and it’s to hand I fear I may kill them.

Congratulations, Guy!
It’s better to use that than your bass. Evidence lockers are not a good place for guitars. Not that I would know from personal experience, mind you.
😀

Hey Guy,
Congratulations on award, they televised Iva’s presentation of the award, here in oz.
He has of recent thrown out a little tit bit; saying Icehouse may get together for a bit of a tour next year, for nostalgia.
You won’t be joining them?
Karen.

Congratulations Guy. I’m sorry but I just voted in the DG web site for you in the shameless self promotion category. I hope you take the voting from us DG’ers as its intended…just a bit of fun, we luv you really 🙂
Maybe you’ll get another award if you win?
Cool web site by the way.
Are you likely to take your show on the road anywhere near Berkshire? Sounds like a blast!
Cheers…Mat

Heya Guy! Congrats on the award. Well deserved! Im really looking forward to the book and hopefully a DVD of your show as I am now living in Mexico City where I guess it is unlikely you’ll be performing right?
Funny thing. Should you ever find yourself in a tight spot, I had a bass player offer me $500 US for the pick you gave me over at Massey Hall in Toronto. $500! Can you believe it? Still, Im proud to say I declined and proudly keep you pick and Stevies drumstick on display in my studio. (Now I only hope this guy keeps coming back for more sessions just to try to convince me 🙂 )

Sorry to be a pain Guy but is N.Ireland on your list?
Phoenix - December 14, 2006 7:54 PM
Guy, thanks for the DG chatroom visit. Sorry if we were a bit overwhelming. Hopefully your next visit will be less frenetic (yup, using the BIG WORDS today).
Happy holidays to you and your family!
Phoenix.
Guy Pratt - December 14, 2006 11:22 PM
I played Belfast last year!
Please don’t keep asking me where I’m playing, as I will put the dates up on the site as soon as they’re finalised.
Cheers
Guy

True enough

Well, Guy, if that is your real name, you gotta do what you gotta do and if blugeoning someone in order to save the day is necessary then God speed.
Congrats! Always nice to have something weighty to keep the mantel-piece down.
Sincerely,
A Canuck Bass Player.
p.s. Come to Canada, if only so I can buy you a beer or 12.
Guy - December 16, 2006 12:02 PM
Of course it’s my real name!
Renee - December 18, 2006 3:35 AM

I’d like to become more familiar with your work with Icehouse back in the early 80s. If you had to select ONE Icehouse album that best showcased your contribution to the band, which one would it be?

Measure for Measure

Hello there Mr. Pratt!
Congratulations on the award, You deserve it buddy. Must be a great honour for you. Excellent news.
The website’s looking excellent‑a, Glad to see many Gilmour regulars coming here and supporting the site. As we say in Wales, Fandabbi-dosie.
Right then Guy, I’m off now to have a few drinks now before I go out for a xmas party tonight. Happy Days.
One question — Have you got David anything?
All the best, Simon J
