A brand new comedy night takes place on November 13th from 8pm, being held at the 20th Century Theatre (London’s Notting Hill area), hosted by Guy Pratt and featuring Adam Hills, Miles Jupp, Geoff Boyz and Watson & Oliver.
“Notting Good Taste” is in fact quite the opposite. It’s a round-up of some of the best comedy talent around, served up in tasty morsels, resulting in a full serving of mirth and laughter. It is hosted by internationally renowned musician and comedian Guy Pratt, whose twenty-five odd years spent living in the area seems to make him think he has the right to front something like this.
Tickets are priced at £15 each and include a free cocktail and raffle ticket.
The UK’s Multiple Sclerosis Society is the beneficiary of this special night.

Hey Guy, Im a bass player in Australia and have been waiting to see the show since you started touring with it. I live in Victoria and will not be able to travel to Adelaide, Sydney or Perth for the show as I cannot afford it. How come you missed Melbourne? It is the Performing Arts capital of Australia.
Will you get a chance to do a show in Melbourne this time as I would like to bring my 9 yar old son Max who reckons you are the best bass player going around (even better than me)? I dont want to wait for many more years to see you.
Cheers Andy

Sadly part of the deal with Adelaide is that I don’t play Melbourne..

Guy,
You are probably the coolest Bass player ever! I never realized I have heard you on so many records. I am familiar with your work with David, and It’s just awesome!
I am wondering, is there any plan to bring your show to the States? I’d really like to see it.
And by the way, and I am sure you have heard this before, but I learned to play bass by listening to your technique on PULSE.
Cheers Mate,
Anthony

Hi Guy,
Just wanted to say what a great night the 13th Nov was. Not usually one for staying up late but because of the excellent acts, great venue and cheap pizza and drinks I stayed awake for the entire show. Really enjoyed ourselves and it was topped off by winning a fantastic raffle prize (posh prizes or what). And what was really cool was that it was for a charity too (I raised over 2 grand last year for MS running NY marathon). So if you plan to do more nights like this, let me and Tim know & we will encourage our Willesden posse to come along. And/Or if your considering a more north London location I may have a few ideas.
Fantastic MCing, matey, maybe you could give up your day job?
Lots of Love
Sian.

Hi Guy,
I discovered you when I was watching a DVD of Gary Moore.
You played together at Montreux Jazz Festival in 1997.
During the song “Parisienne Walkways” Gary had a problem and stop playing during 1 or 2 minutes.
The drummer was still playing, and you started to play with a very strange sound…
Do you remember how to do this sound? I call it a “Liquid Bass Sound” !
What kind of multi-effects you had during this show?
I was very sad when I knew the death of R.Wright, I’m sad because I was to young to see a Pink Floyd Show…
Keep playing, and have fun.

Hi Guy, hope you got to Australia okay.
Are you performing a new show or is it the same routine you did back in Britain? Or is this all just an elaborate cover so we’ll all be surprised when you turn up as a new camp-mate on “I’m a celeb (with a failing/failed career) get me into the jungle (and on camera)”?
Unfortunately i often don’t get to hear your radio show live but i usually manage to catch it on the listen again feature. Will your show be staying in its usual time slot or is it getting changed so you don’t have to get up quite so early to do it, or is it just going to be pre-recorded?
Sorry for the deluge of questions, hope everything goes well, which i’m sure it will.
Thomas Robinson
P.s. I have got an idea for a new name for your show but it depends on how Australians react to Monty Python’s ‘Bruce’s’ sketch as to whether it would be funny(ish) or just plain dangerous.

Imagine how I felt when the flight attendant announced that the state of the art, award winning in-flight entertainment system would NOT be working on my Virgin flight back from New York this weekend. Groans all round. I started ‘My Bass…’ as we taxied and had finished it in time for an hour’s kip before landing at Heathrow. Nice one, terrific entertainment!

Interesting new look to the blog, Guy.
The graphic at the top kinda looks like you’re holding a lightsaber and messing about. 🙂
Cheers,
Nix.
