Thanks to everyone who came to my show, it was great fun, despite serious heckling from the Gilmour family.
Also cheers to everyone who’s been listening in and emailing during my radio show, I must say I love it, and hopefully will be doing it for some time yet..
xx

I hope so too. Your radio show just gets better every week. Loved the String Theory — it’s not everyone that could carry that one off 😀
Careful on those ski slopes!

It was another great show on friday and i managed to stay awake for the whole thing this time (NB. I don’t fall asleep because Guy is boring just because i don’t get enough sleep during the week.) Maybe you should direct the listeners to this website so they can find a bit about you first before asking if you went to orgys in the 70s. All that proved is that there is a more inappropriate hobby to have whilst listening to your show than playing world of warcraft.
Did the Gilmours heckle you throughout o was it just when you were talking about them? He didn’t shout out for you to play See Emily Play did he? 😆
Enjoy your holiday, you’ve certainly earnt it.

Does anyone know whats happening instead of guys radio show next friday? Is there a different guest presenter? A repeat of an old show? Just music played with no presenter like during the night?

If you don’t mind my asking, on what exactly did the Gilmours heckle you? After having read about two thirds of your book (saving the last third for something to read on my trip to Raleigh, NC next week), there is no telling… 😀
I may or may not be the only one, but I enjoyed the science bit of your show this past Friday…I like the idea of learning something that is not only cool but also current without being too political (if I hear ‘primaries’ one more time, I might just pull out my hair), religious, and/or just downright depressing.
In addition to that and the wonderful as always music, it was also neat to hear you talk about UFO and the fact that your dad made an appearance on an episode of that…based on your comments AND what I have read elsewhere, I’ll have to see that episode and the overall series when I can, British/Cult TV nut I tend to be.
Like everyone else, I’ll miss your show later this week, but you have certainly deserved your upcoming holiday. Hope you and yours have a fun and especially safe time on the drifts and slopes, Guy! 🙂

Enjoyed the show, especially the science. Will it be a permanent feature ? Did you see the TV programme earlier this week by Stephen Hawking? Same subject. Fried my brain. Finally, have a look on the ‘New Scientist’ magazine web site for the cover of the March 8th edition. (same subject again but really great cover 😉 )
Don’t go breaking any legs.

Great news — Planet Rock is open for at least one more month. That means that Guy’s shows can continue for at least a little while longer.
Will there be a show this week or is Guy having a well deserved second week off? I’m getting withdrawl symptoms.
Cheers,
Thomas

That is certainly great news about Planet Rock, Thomas. At the risk of sounding too optimistic, I had a feeling that PR’s lifespan would be lengthened a little bit…how could it not with not only all of the petitions and such going on, but also the fact that, at least from what I’ve read, PR is the most listened to DAB station in not only the UK but quite possibly the world too…
I too am looking forward to the next edition of the show too, be it this week or next…hope the holiday is/was a good one!

Just a thought, back when the pirate radio ships, Radio Caroline, Luxembourg & Radio London were closed down many off the DJ’s from those stations were later employed by the BBC. If Planet Rock is unfortunatly to close down are we looking at Guy being the next Tony Blackburn!!
someone please keep Planet Rock on the air!

Hello Guy,
It seems to me that female artists are not getting much airplay on Planet Rock. (I googled female rock stars and there are lists of the top 100 on several pages.) One day last week in the course of about seven hours listening, the only female I heard was Grace Slick.
I wonder if you would be able to do a Ladies Night or hour or 15mins. If you’re taking requests, I have a few in mind.
Wishing you continued success,
