   I hope so too. Your radio show just gets bet­ter every week. Loved the String Theory — it’s not every­one that could carry that one off 😀

   It was another great show on fri­day and i man­aged to stay awake for the whole thing this time (NB. I don’t fall asleep because Guy is bor­ing just because i don’t get enough sleep dur­ing the week.) Maybe you should direct the lis­ten­ers to this web­site so they can find a bit about you first before ask­ing if you went to orgys in the 70s. All that proved is that there is a more inap­pro­pri­ate hobby to have whilst lis­ten­ing to your show than play­ing world of war­craft.

   Did the Gilmours heckle you through­out o was it just when you were talk­ing about them? He did­n’t shout out for you to play See Emily Play did he? 😆

   Does any­one know whats hap­pen­ing instead of guys radio show next fri­day? Is there a dif­fer­ent guest pre­sen­ter? A repeat of an old show? Just music played with no pre­sen­ter like dur­ing the night?

   If you don’t mind my ask­ing, on what exactly did the Gilmours heckle you? After hav­ing read about two thirds of your book (sav­ing the last third for some­thing to read on my trip to Raleigh, NC next week), there is no telling… 😀

   I may or may not be the only one, but I enjoyed the sci­ence bit of your show this past Friday…I like the idea of learn­ing some­thing that is not only cool but also cur­rent with­out being too polit­i­cal (if I hear ‘pri­maries’ one more time, I might just pull out my hair), reli­gious, and/​or just down­right depress­ing.

   In addi­tion to that and the won­der­ful as always music, it was also neat to hear you talk about UFO and the fact that your dad made an appear­ance on an episode of that…based on your com­ments AND what I have read else­where, I’ll have to see that episode and the over­all series when I can, British/​Cult TV nut I tend to be.

   Like every­one else, I’ll miss your show later this week, but you have cer­tainly deserved your upcom­ing hol­i­day. Hope you and yours have a fun and espe­cially safe time on the drifts and slopes, Guy! 🙂

   Enjoyed the show, espe­cially the sci­ence. Will it be a per­ma­nent fea­ture ? Did you see the TV pro­gramme ear­lier this week by Stephen Hawking? Same sub­ject. Fried my brain. Finally, have a look on the ‘New Scientist’ mag­a­zine web site for the cover of the March 8^th edi­tion. (same sub­ject again but really great cover 😉 )

    Great news — Planet Rock is open for at least one more month. That means that Guy’s shows can con­tinue for at least a lit­tle while longer.
    Will there be a show this week or is Guy hav­ing a well deserved sec­ond week off? I’m get­ting with­drawl symp­toms.

    That is cer­tainly great news about Planet Rock, Thomas. At the risk of sound­ing too opti­mistic, I had a feel­ing that PR’s lifes­pan would be length­ened a lit­tle bit…how could it not with not only all of the peti­tions and such going on, but also the fact that, at least from what I’ve read, PR is the most lis­tened to DAB sta­tion in not only the UK but quite pos­si­bly the world too…

    I too am look­ing for­ward to the next edi­tion of the show too, be it this week or next…hope the hol­i­day is/​was a good one!

    Just a thought, back when the pirate radio ships, Radio Caroline, Luxembourg & Radio London were closed down many off the DJ’s from those sta­tions were later employed by the BBC. If Planet Rock is unfor­tu­natly to close down are we look­ing at Guy being the next Tony Blackburn!!

    Hello Guy,

    It seems to me that female artists are not get­ting much air­play on Planet Rock. (I googled female rock stars and there are lists of the top 100 on sev­eral pages.) One day last week in the course of about seven hours lis­ten­ing, the only female I heard was Grace Slick.

    I won­der if you would be able to do a Ladies Night or hour or 15mins. If you’re tak­ing requests, I have a few in mind.
