It’s 4am and I’m wide awake, though not for any nefarious reasons…
Got into Perth, Western Australia yesterday afternoon, drank about 10 gallons of water and had a massage, passed out at 10.30 pm and now I’m as conscious as conscious can be. Looking forwards to this leg of the tour, haven’t been to Oz since Jan 2000, and as those of you who know anything about me will recall it harbours very fond memories. So much so that when the tour ends I’m staying on for a couple of weeks.
Now, anyone got any ideas for things to do in the middle of night in Perth?
xxGuy

I’ll ask my half-sister… she’s living there now with her beau. It being 4am, she’s asleep. 😀

And apparently because she works a regular job there now, she has no idea what happens at 4am. Heh, heh.
Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.

You’re not the next surprise celebrity thats going to appear in I’m a celebrity get me out of here are you? How about a Neighbours cameo? (The second one definitly sounds better.)
I always find that if i’ve been awake for ages and decide that there is some music that i really want to listen to, just after i start to listen to it i fall asleep!

Hello Guy
I have just sent you my contact details via Myspace. No doubt my ol’ hometown Adelaide is next.
Hope to catch up in Melbourne.
Cheers

Hi,
I mentioned a little way back I will be going to Tempus Two – Hunter Valley, Mr. Ferry show.
Am asking if you would like to met up either before or after show if possible, maybe sign my book, have a wine.
Otherwise I do actually live in Sydney, so if meeting up easier there I can do also.
Anyway if not possible, hope you have a fun time while here.
Karen.

Ok, no problem, hope to see you then.

mr pratt,
seems mr ferry’s show at Tempus Two has been cancelled, I assume because of rain.
i had actaully brought you a book which is a funny outlook on American Politics — written by the one of “The Chaser” guys as i thought you would find it amusing… (It’s a locally brewed political satire show like the Daily Show)
anyway hope the rest tour goes well and you enjoy your time here again. I’ll post my number 0416 277 160, and if you still in the area or in sydney, be nice to catch up for a chat about your book.
karen.

Guy!
Sometimes the Biber Mystery Sonatas are just the thing — when you can’t sleep, and it’s the middle of the night, they can really take you places. I’ll recommend a recording if you like, until mine comes out.
Wishing you the very best,
Leah

Hi Guy
I know this is rather an obnoxious way of contacting you but I was wanting your advice. I’ve assembled a band at my college in the University of Durham to record an “all star” version of Money (Floyd, obviously) to help our local student radio station that is desperately running out of money. Among the various positions in the group, I have got the lucky job of bass. I was wondering if you would be able to offer us any advice on getting the right sort of sound. I would have emailed but could not find an address! Anything at all is welcome!
Thanks — I met you on the first night of your Edinburgh Fringe shows, thoroughly enjoying the whole thing! You were very friendly then so hoped you would be now!
Seb

Hi Guy,
Is there any possibility that while you are ‘downunder’ you
might pop across to New Zealand (specifically Auckland)
for a show or two? We would love to see you here 🙂
Here’s hoping

As far as I’m aware the key is just to play it on a Precision. On the record the second half of the riff is doubled with guitar..
Richard
I’ll be in Auckland next week. Can you get me a gig?
Haris - November 29, 2007 10:33 PM
@Seb: don’t forget the pick too 🙂
Also one thing was bothered me for a long time, now you are remind me on it, in case you cant find Precision that fast, and the thing is: Is it enough to just turn off the secont tone pot on JazzBass to get Precision like sound? At least something near.
Because in that case the only working pickup would be the neck one. Just like only one on Precision is. Only diference is type of pickup, on Jazz is classic single coil, on Precission is splitted, and position is not quite the same…but Im not shure how much that can affect the sound, those basses are very similiar techically, beside pickups. I was actualy made one record for album, on Jazz with only neck pickup ON, just for test, and its sounds…well i duno 🙂 interesting.
@Guy: Can we hear any experiences about that from great master? And once again so sorry i could not make it to the Belgrade show :((( …All the best 4 Australian B&animals tour show 😉

Hi Guy,
If you are serious I could organise something.
You can email me on floydnz@orcon.net.nz
to give me some idea of the numbers required
to make a gig in Auckland a viable proposition.
I look forward to hearing from you.
cheers

Last time I was awake at 4 am in Perth it was due to entirely nefarious reasons. You probably remember; you were there for part of it. I recall sitting under the Southern Cross on the beach rolling my head off on Ecstacy, which was still legal there at the time.
What would I do now? Take a hot bath, and watch strange, middle ‑of-the-night bad Aussie TV, I expect.
