Thanks to everyone who came to the PMT shows in Leeds and Manchester, I had a great time.
Unfortunately I seem to have lost the piece of paper with addresses that 3 people left for me in Leeds, so if you see this can you please post and let me know.

Superb night at PMT Manchester. The show was well paced and witty with lots of great stories and some top bass playing, but I would have welcomed a bit of Q & A at the end — although with the idiot birthday guy on the front row I guess you had your fill of audience interaction for one night. As someone who isn’t a Pink Floyd fan I would have liked to hear a bit more of your work with Bryan Ferry and Jimmy Nail, but that’s not a complaint.
Guy, you’re the same age as me, play the same instrument and we have similar tastes from our youth. I got a copy of your ‘My bass…’ book on the night and spent all the next day reading it from cover to cover. Amazed at some of the artists you have worked with. The book was a fantastic read and I salute and respect you. Alas, as Robert Palmer one said “some guys have all the luck!” 🙂

hi guy . nice to see you are’nt forgeting dublin and are playing here in september . last time you did so it was the carlsberg comedy festival this time it is the bummers international comedy fesitval . am i sensing a small link ? 🙂
for the second time i came across you gig by fluke but this time there was better advertising for the comedy festival you are playing , it gave me more then the 24 hours notice i had last time to buy a ticket ! i was in a pub called the red cow inn having some lunch ( i drive my car for a living you see doing deliveries for my dad buisness so i can end up eating in pubs, petrol stations or god knows where else!) i found an evening herald newpaper and although there is never much to read in it i scanned through it . i came some adds for upcoming gigs . there was an add for the comedy festival . made up of smaller adds with pictures of each act and information on where to see them . there you were advertising my bass . as soon as i got home i got a ticket . i am looking forward to seeing your show again !
cheers

Hey Guy,
Thanks for your Brisbane show — it was awesome. Pity about the rude guests in the audience but you handled it like a pro.
I am looking forward to seeing you next tour.
I particularly enjoyed your tails about trying to smash your guitar. I hope you remember the advice I gave you on the night — the guitar hero base is a bolt on neck so will give the right effect when you smash it.
And as for your comment that you can’t seem to get the hang of the whole guitar hero thing ‑my advice is to keep at it — I am sure you’ll pick it up eventually — remember it is all in the practice!!!!
Catch you soon,
Delena

Hey Guy, I was wandering in the web today and reading about Boris Karloff (William Henry Pratt — 23 Nov. 1887 — Camberwell, London). Was he by any chance related to you?
Just finished to read your book. Excellent!
Best,
Cae

Heya Guy! I gather you’re home now? Time to blog!
Chris loved the video you did for him. You put on a fabulous show for us at Highfields and I (and others) can’t thank you enough for venturing into the back of beyond to do it for us. Huge hugs and kisses to you! xo

Hello, Guy! Loved your Great disco bass lines video on Youtube. Do you sometimes use Precision bass as well? How would you describe the difference between Precision and Jazz? Cheers!

Hey Guy,
Good to see things are going well. We’re still waiting for you to do at least a small tour out here in the US! Hope to see you blog soon.

As far as I know I’m not related to Boris Karloff, but I was aware of his name..
Precisions have a wider neck and only on pickup so they only really have one sound, which is lovely but a bit woody and mellow for my tastes..
I was meant to be playing NZ this year but the festival got cancelled, hopefully next year..
